So that post seemed to work, images

So the last post worked after some jiggery pokerry.  It turns out that a plugin pingcrawl that I use was causing me issues.  I will post a full write up later to show the fixes.

I am now trying to add a new image:

GBP_USD

GBP_USD

I am now trying to move the same image above to the right hand side.  I am also trying to float the image so that this text in this paragraph wraps around.  To do this I have to have enough text so it does it correctly.  I am therefore going to write these rambling words just to fill up space in this post.

Trying to publish to wordpress using windows live writer

So it was an absolute disaster trying to post from word back in June last year.  I have been looking for a tool to provide a more familiar feel than word press.  So we are going to post this using windows live writer. So this is the first real effort.  I am going to mark up some easy tests to see how we get on.

  1. A numbered list
  2. The second entry
  3. Number 3 just for fun :)

The following text should be in italic and purple: only those who try to succeed will ever succeed

If this works out ok, I will try to add a new post from here with a video, some pictures, a map etc.  All the good stuff that actually makes a blog readable and nice to look at.

Blogging from word 2007 (take 2)

p
/ppIssues found with word 2007 to wordpress:
/pp
/ppTo get a proper real break in the text you need to double carriage return.
/ppWordpress does not handle any of the formatting options I set (perhaps this is theme related)
/ppSo in conclusion, word is great for word….. Not so great for blogging unless it’s just plain simple text you need.

Blogging from word 2007

pSo this is the first post from within Microsoft Word 2007, really I am just testing this feature out as it may be a little more productive for me. The one issue I have run into this morning is you must switch on “remote publishing” which can be found in your wordpress admin area under settings -gt; writing -gt; remote publishing. You need to check the checkbox for XML-RPC then save…
/ppEither create a new user to allow publishing from word or use the account details that you log in to the admin area with.
/ppYou can also post to many other types of blogging platforms like moveable type, blogger etc.
/ppSo lets take a look at the options in word.
/ppYou can select the category that you want to publish each post in, I have decided to post this in my useful category. Obviously you get the usual word stylings, fonts, numbering so lets check these out….
/pulliBullet 1
/liliBullet 2
/li/ulolliNumber 1
/liliNumber 2
/li/olpspan style=”background-color:yellow”A highlighted example of some text/span
/ppspan style=”color:red”Text with a red font
/span/pp style=”background: black”span style=”color:red”Text with a red font and a black background
/span/ppspan style=”color:#1f497d; text-decoration:underline”strongemText that is blue, italic, bold and underlined
/em/strong/span/ppOk all that is left really is to choose if I wish to publish to draft or straight to live, I am not one for hanging about so lets push the button./p
